“Self-esteem is just the reputation that you have with yourself. You’ll always know” Naval Ravikant
Hippocrates talked about a psychological theory that suggested four fundamental personality types; knowing these personalities will help you understand why people behave the way they do. One way to identify someone’s personality type without asking the person (many people are not aware themselves) is simply observing their behavior and noticing how they react to different situations. Everyone has a main personality trait and a sub-personality, here are some descriptions for each of the four personality types:
Sanguine.
These are the outgoing life-of-the-party types. At a party, they will start conversations easily and make friends with everyone.
Choleric.
These individuals are arrogant and moody. At a party, they can be found sitting by themselves constantly watching the time wishing they were at home instead.
Melancholic.
These people are the quiet, deep thinkers. They are the ones sitting quietly observing everyone at the party, their conversations are very thoughtful.
Phlegmatic.
These guys are always calm and carefree. They are the ones at the party who are minding their own business; they are a pleasure to talk to.
Sometimes it’s hard to understand why some people are the way they are or behave in a certain way; hopefully this information will help you better communicate with those around you and understand people a little more.
